Mobeam Revamps Its Beepngo Wallet & Coupon App
Light-based beaming solution for Android smartphones announces major design improvements for app that has processed nearly 35 million barcode loyalty and payment transactions
PALO ALTO, Calif. – February 10, 2016 –Today,Mobeam, the unique global leader in mobile barcode beaming technology, announced its latest version of its popular Beep’nGo App for Android.Beep’nGo, which currently has over 10 million installs, adds significant design improvements to its 4.0 iteration allowing customers to use retail loyalty cards, gift cards and barcode coupons on their smartphone at checkout scanners for the first time.
Design improvements include location-based card reminders for faster checkout and an enhanced “Add Card” setup process. Separate destinations forcardsandoffersare now easily accessible under the new menu drawer. Beepn’Go offers and coupons have a polished new look, favorites engine for “For Me” personalized offers, an upgraded search and navigation system, and numerous additional offer discovery enhancements.

Mobeam’spatented light-based beaming technology overcomes historical technical barriers and enables (POS) laser scanners to read barcodes on Android mobile devices. Popular and emerging “mobile payment” apps rely on NFC or other technologies that communicate with credit card payment terminals, but not with scanners. Because Mobeam enables a mobile wallet to interact with the scanner, payment apps can now carry loyalty cards, membership cards, gift cards, tickets, vouchers and coupons, providing them with universal POS access at retailers. A collection of self-service APIs and tools, the Mobeam SDK license is offered free to developers for an initial period of 120 days with extensions available on a case-by-case basis.
