Walgreens Selects Deliv to Power Same-Day Prescription Delivery in Dallas

MENLO PARK, CA--(Marketwired - November 30, 2015) - The nation's largest drugstore chain Walgreens[1], today announced that it has selected Deliv[2], a leading crowdsourced, last mile delivery company, to power its same-day prescription delivery service in Dallas. The agreement makes Deliv a part of the Walgreens omnichannel strategy to provide consumers with multiple options that fit the way they shop.

Starting today, Walgreens shoppers in select Dallas area stores can call in prescription orders for delivery from their local pharmacies, or they can drop off prescription orders and opt to have them delivered at a time that's convenient rather than wait at the store. Walgreens begins same-day service powered by Deliv with 67 stores in the Dallas area.

"We are always looking for new ways to offer customers ultimate convenience," said Dov Shenkman, Walgreens group vice president, global inventory and transportation. "Delivery where customers want it, when they want it, is one way to engage with customers and remove some friction from their daily living."

Deliv works with merchants on the back end, adding the same-day delivery option into the checkout process, whether on the website, mobile app, or in the physical brick-and-mortar store. Doing so ensures that the retailer upholds its essential connection to customers while providing a completely seamless experience. The retailer also maintains ownership of data from every customer transaction.

"Walgreens exemplifies forward thinking and putting the customer first at every level," said Daphne Carmeli, CEO of Deliv. "The Deliv team is thrilled to play an important role as Walgreens continues its efforts to improve the health and happiness of its customers."
