Scandit to unveil self-scanning barcode technology
On Monday, January 12th at 8am ET: Scandit will unveil self-scanning barcode technology that enables consumers to embrace a truly futuristic new shopping experience, from virtual shopping—in which consumers scan items on billboards in subways and add them to virtual baskets for future home delivery—to effortless checkout at retailers in which no kiosk or cashier is needed, and much more.
Not only does this new self-scanning technology empower consumers in entirely new ways, it results in dramatically lowers costs for retailers while offering previously inaccessible consumer behavior data and intelligence. We expect retailers will begin adopting this technology rapidly in 2015 and the technology behind this new solution is currently being utilized by global retailers including Coop at Home, Ahold, Homeplus (Tesco) and more.
As Samuel Mueller, CEO of Scandit puts it:
“In 1989, Marty McFly gave us a glimpse into what 2015 might look like. And while there have been incredible innovations over the past twenty-six years that have made our lives easier and more enjoyable, some things—like pushing around a shopping cart or waiting in line to check out at a retailer—haven’t changed much at all. That’s all about to change. We’re kicking off 2015 by unveiling a next-generation technology that retailers can harness to offer consumers a truly futuristic shopping experience.”
