Radius Inc. Announces New Internet of Things Edge Sensor Solution

KIRKLAND, WA--(Marketwired - September 04, 2014) - Radius Inc., a next-generation technology solution provider focused on the growing Internet of Things (IoT) industry, today announced the launch of the "Radius IoT Edge Sensor Solution." The Edge Sensor Solution enables enterprise customers to connect operational data traditionally tethered to wired devices to the cloud, allowing them to leverage the full capability of IoT-based analytics.

The Internet of Things is expected to expand to a total of more than 200 billion connected devices within the next decade, and globally more and more companies are leveraging a variety of connected devices to bring new value into their operations. The Radius IoT Edge Sensor Solution makes it possible for an enterprise to unlock the value of the data generated by those devices, linking any device to cloud-based services via cellular connectivity.

"We are very excited to announce our new IoT Edge Sensor Solution," said Anders Brown, President at Radius Inc. "The reality is that enterprises around the globe still have tremendous amounts of operational and industrial data tethered to physical devices and sensors that cannot be accessed and processed. This new solution provides the capability to unlock that data and send it over the cellular networks for processing and analysis."

The Radius IoT Edge Sensor Solution is powered by software and hardware from Ombitron, a company delivering an end-to-end IoT platform focused on accelerating the Internet of Things. "Today's enterprise customers need a streamlined solution to quickly and cost effectively test, deploy, and most importantly, monitor and maximize value from IoT use cases," said H. Paul Hammann, Ombitron's Founder and CEO. "Our E-Series managed cellular gateway suite combined with Radius' expertise in this market creates a great combination and solution for enterprise customers."

Along with the Radius IoT Edge Sensor Solution, Radius and Ombitron announced the availability of the IoT Quick Start Bundle, providing everything customers need to easily evaluate the Edge Sensor Solution by connecting devices to the cellular network and gathering key operational data for processing and analysis. This offering includes the Edge Sensor Solution for a fixed number of devices, system configuration, professional services and support and is intended to take 30 days from project kick-off to final solution deployment.
