eGifter Launches Auto-Updating Coupons Linked to Gift Cards in their...

Huntington, NY (PRWEB) August 14, 2014

eGifter, the social gifting company, announces today the launch of an embedded coupon service[1] that automatically aggregates discounts and special offers from big name brands such as CVS, Home Depot, Gap and Kohl’s, making them instantly available on the eGifter mobile app.

Consumers who purchase digital gift cards through the eGifter marketplace or scan plastic gift cards into their eGifter mobile wallet will automatically be able to access all special offers those brands are currently running directly within the eGifter application. The app also utilizes eGifter’s proprietary algorithms to allow retailers to create targeted offers based on the social graph, reaching specific target audiences based factors including on region, age or gender.

The app gives just-in-time access to deals on products for each gift card held in a consumer’s eGifter mobile gift card wallet.

“Getting to the point of sale, whether at a physical register or online, and having to search for relevant coupons and discounts is unnecessarily time consuming and frustrating for consumers,” said Tyler Roye, CEO of eGifter. “Our iOS app works to eliminate the headache and make the process easier by creating one central place for digital shopping. This added convenience helps encourage consumers to actually use their gift cards.”

In 2013, findings from the Google Shopper Council showed 84 percent of shoppers reported using mobile phones while they shopped in store, with 39 percent seeking offers and promotions. As that demand grows, card-linked coupons help brands and retailers further bridge the divide between mobile and brick-and-mortar shopping.

“Between advances in mobile commerce and innovations at the point-of-sale, the way people shop continues to evolve rapidly. It’s not about clipping coupons out of the Sunday paper anymore,” added Roye. “By creating a convenient link between the special offers and the gift card, and integrating them both into the mobile experience, the consumer can focus on getting the right product, rather than fumbling with technology at the point of sale in an effort to find the right coupon.”
