Pre NRF Bar Code News Mailbag Round-up

mailbag     With the NRF 2013 show just about here my Inbox has been deluged with press releases and invitations to briefings, demonstrations, booths and parties.   Here's a quick round -up of what is going down;
    Zebra (Booth #937) will be releasing a new mobile printer designed to give retailers the ability to print from a range of mobile devices.
In addition to its mobile POS offerings, Zebra and its partners are demonstrating a wide range of solutions for the retail industry, including:
   * Self-service kiosk solutions – empower shoppers and help retailers become more profitable
   * Price management applications – deliver improved accuracy and greater efficiency
   * Consumer loyalty applications – help retailers increase repeat shoppers, resulting in higher sales
   * RFID inventory accuracy solutions – improve visibility and the customer experience
   * Back-of-store receiving and inventory applications – streamline operations and increase productivity

   StopLift (Booth #2607)- the theft prevention technology is releasing a new version that includes capabilities to prevent false alerts and interventions, immediately flag unscanned merchandise at the checkout, and alert the attendant before the customer leaves the checkout and exits the store.  Watch this cool Video of REAL self-checkout theft at StopLift.    Live real-time demonstrations can be seen at the Stoplift booth and also NCR (Booth # 2007), and Fujitsu (Booth # 1033).

    APG (Booth #1654) will demo a new WiFi interface solution.    Epson  (Booth #1627) says that they'll be announcing some really cool stuff, including an entire lineup of "intelligent printers".  Additionally, they'll have six partners in the booth who have been working with customers for the past year to pilot new solutions. Last, they'll be adding significant features to their mobile printer selection.
