QR Codes Spell Success for Greenville Realtor
"What started as a simple mobile e-mail solution, has transformed into a crucial tool that I would be lost without," says Keegan. Today, Keegan uses a smartphone to do everything from search properties on the go, to accessing the lockboxes on Greenville SC homes for sale. As he explains, it also goes much further.
"When I became a Realtor in 2003, I actually used to keep a file cabinet in the trunk of my car, with all of my active client files," says Keegan. Now he uses his smartphone to access and sync all of his client files between his mobile office and his actual office. "I keep every single file, picture, and document on a secure network storage drive, and my smartphone allows me to access those files from anywhere in the world, at any time of day or night. I don't think I could find a trunk to hold a file cabinet that size."
Cameron Keegan is also using mobile technology to further his reach to consumers, and the marketing for his Greenville SC homes currently on the market. "There is something called a QR code, which is a black and white image that can be scanned by almost any barcode scanning app on an iPhone, Android device, BlackBerry, or Windows Phone," says Keegan. "Scanning this image takes the user to the mobile-optimized version of my website, which automatically sorts my listings based on proximity to the user's GPS location." Keegan uses those barcodes in all of his print marketing as a way to give users access to the details of his listings on the go, including all available photographs. "While the Internet provides great exposure for my listings, print marketing makes the phone ring, which is why I still market my listings in the Greenville Journal and Greenville News, as well as all of the Greenville SC real estate magazines."
Keegan is currently working on a process that will allow clients to complete and sign documents on-screen, and plans to launch that capability in the beginning of 2011. "I have expanded the reach of mobile technology far beyond where I ever would have expected five years ago, and I continue to think of new uses for my client's benefit, as well as my own."
