Zebra Appoints Cristen Kogl As Senior VP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Kogl’s tenure highlighted by strong leadership and company values

Lincolnshire, Ill. – Aug. 27, 2018 – Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, today announced that Cristen Kogl, Zebra’s current Vice President and Assistant General Counsel will assume the role of Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, effective September 1, 2018. She succeeds Jim Kaput who is retiring after successfully serving for nine years as Zebra’s General Counsel. Mr. Kaput will work with Ms. Kogl to facilitate a seamless transition.

As General Counsel, Ms. Kogl will lead Zebra’s legal department, providing guidance on a wide range of matters including Zebra’s corporate governance, go to market strategy, intellectual property, and regulatory and compliance matters impacting the company’s operations and industry.

Ms. Kogl joined Zebra in 2015 as Vice President, Corporate Counsel. She made a quick impact on the Legal department and the company through her exemplary performance, focusing on the post-acquisition integration of the Motorola Solutions Enterprise Business and expansion of the commercial group within the Zebra Legal Department. She was promoted to Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary in 2017.

Prior to joining Zebra, Ms. Kogl served as Vice President, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer at W.W. Grainger, Inc. and Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at The ServiceMaster Company, both of which were Fortune 500 companies during her tenure.  Ms. Kogl also served as General Counsel at National Express LLC and Spyglass, Inc.

  • Effective September 1, Kogl will become a member of Zebra’s Executive Leadership Team as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

  • She joined Zebra in 2015 as Vice President, Corporate Counsel and two years later, was elevated to Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary.

  • Kogl replaces Jim Kaput who is retiring after successfully serving as Zebra’s General Counsel for nine years.
