Intrinsic-ID to Showcase IoT Security Solution at InvenSense Conf

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - November 18, 2015) - Intrinsic-ID[1], a leader in security for cyber-physical systems, will showcase at the 2015 InvenSense Developer's Conference[2] being held at the Santa Clara Convention Center, November 17-18, 2015, the TrustedSensor solution, a secure, sensor-based authentication system with InvenSense's Firefly SoC.

Internet of Things (IoT) applications are often driven by data that is gathered by sensors in the field. With all this data flowing through the network, security for IoT is attracting more and more attention, but protection of sensor data is too often overlooked. In order to develop a strong sensor data security solution that is easy to use, easy to integrate and does not affect the performance of the sensor, InvenSense partnered with Intrinsic-ID.

"Our solution extracts a cryptographic key from the unique silicon properties of the sensor chip," says Pim Tuyls, President and CEO of Intrinsic-ID. "This enables secure and reliable authentication of data from the sensor and prevents anyone from manipulating the interfaces or replacing the sensor without authorization, all with minimal impact on the cost and design of the sensor."

The TrustedSensor solution will be available in early 2016 for the InvenSense FireFly platform and will become a standard feature in InvenSense's sensor roadmap. Developers and OEMs will be able to purchase the complete solution from InvenSense. A prototype is being showcased at the InvenSense Developers Conference at the Intrinsic-ID booth.

About Intrinsic-ID

Intrinsic-ID is a world leader in the field of Cyber Physical Security Systems as a provider of "Physical Unclonable Functions" (PUF). Using our patented PUF technology, secret keys and identifiers are reliably extracted from the physical properties of chips. Much like the electronic equivalent of a human fingerprint, the PUF uniquely identifies and authenticates any electronic device. PUFs can be used for secure hardware key management, to establish a hardware root-of-trust or to protect the electronic supply chains against clones and counterfeits. Intrinsic-ID's security solutions are used in IoT, identification, automotive, communications, content distribution, government and defense. Intrinsic-ID is a spin-off from Philips Electronics. The company is headquartered in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and has sales offices in San Jose, Tokyo and Seoul. Learn more at www.intrinsic-id.com[3] or follow us on Twitter at @IntrinsicID.
