China's First Smart Home Internet of Things Service Powered by Z-Wave Launched by China Unicom and Zeewave

FREMONT, CA and GUANGZHOU, CHINA--(Marketwired - Oct 15, 2015) - Sigma Designs[1]® (NASDAQ: SIGM[2]), a leading provider of intelligent system-on-chip (SoC) solutions focused on Internet of Things (IoT), Smart TV and media connectivity today announced a co-operative program with China Unicom (Guangdong Branch office), to bring smart-home automation solutions to China Unicom subscribers via Zeewave's Smart Home gateway.

A press conference will be held on 16th October at the 12th China International Small and Medium Enterprise Fair attended by Mr. Yang, of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People's Republic of China, and by Mr. Zou Shan, Head of Guangdong Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission, and by Mr. Li Ying, Secretary General of Guangdong IOT Industry Alliance, where Mr. Raoul Wijgergangs, Vice President of Sigma Designs' Z-Wave Business and Mr. He Biao, General Manger of China Unicom Guangdong branch will jointly announce their cooperative initiative to bring a Z-Wave Smart Home Automation solution to the China market. The first public demonstration of the Smart Home system will also be showcased in booth number C066 at the fair.
