Kraft Heinz Adopts New FourKites® Facility Manager to Slash Dwell Times
CHICAGO (PRWEB) August 13, 2019
FourKites®, the leader in predictive supply chain visibility, today announced that The Kraft Heinz Company has adopted its new Facility Manager(SM) product as part of its ongoing effort to reduce dwell time, lower detention costs, and increase operational excellence across its facilities. FourKites Facility Manager links transportation and warehousing systems via real-time tracking data so that shippers and carriers can work together to tackle the industry’s biggest issue – dwell times and their associated costs.
“We’re excited to extend FourKites’ real-time visibility of in-transit loads to our facilities’ teams,” said Bill Durbin, Vice President of Logistics at Kraft Heinz. “FourKites has worked with us to incorporate our direct feedback into a robust new product that gives us the insight we need to keep improving our facility operations.” Kraft Heinz is one of the largest global food and beverage companies, and a long-time customer of FourKites’ real-time freight tracking and monitoring.
Facility Manager extends the power of FourKites’ DynamicETA(SM) machine learning algorithm to warehouse operations. DynamicETA uses more than 150 data points associated with a single load, including shipper, carrier, lane, rest patterns, load, traffic and weather — and learns continuously from millions of monthly shipments to give shippers and carriers the industry’s most precise arrival times. Facility Manager achieves greater than 90 percent accuracy in predicting arrival times within a one-hour window and 97 percent accuracy predicting arrivals within six hours.
“The inability to predict ETAs has huge negative repercussions for everyone in the supply chain,” said Priya Rajagopalan, Chief Product Officer at FourKites. “Yard operations, dock and labor management, warehouse picking and packing, carrier schedules, truckers’ sanity – they all suffer. Facility Manager solves all of this by combining real-time tracking information with yard and warehouse activities to help customers identify bottlenecks in yard operations and reduce congestion – to the benefit of shippers and carriers alike.”
FourKites Facility Manager offers a number of new capabilities to facilities managers, including real-time visibility into freight ETAs, notifications to drivers, digital check-in and check-out, and reporting, among others.
“FourKites' predictive ETA capabilities are second to none, and our goal is to offer this superpower to everyone in the supply chain,” said Mathew Elenjickal, CEO of FourKites. “Predictive ETA in the yard enables - for the first time - a proactive approach to facilities management that translates to reduced dwell times together with higher driver productivity, utilization and profitability for our carrier partners.”
Since launching five years ago, FourKites has pioneered the industry shift to real-time visibility, enabling shippers to improve on-time delivery and optimize their supply chains based on actionable data and predictive intelligence.
