SpotSee Names Jan Van Niekerk as VP of Engineering and Innovation
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SpotSee, a global internet of things (IoT) connectivity platform and parent company to leading logistics monitoring brands ShockWatch®, SpotBot™, ShockLog®, OpsWatch, ShockTrak™ and WarmMark®, announced today that it has appointed Jan Van Niekerk as the company’s vice president of engineering and innovation.
n this role, Van Niekerk will be responsible for the gathering of direct insight from targeted customers and translating customer problems into innovative solutions for current and future products. Additional duties include developing a short- and long-term product and service innovation strategy, and overseeing the engineering and program management teams.

Van Niekerk brings more than 20 years of expertise in the technical creation, implementation and management of tracking technologies including radio-frequency identification (RFID), the cloud and IoT. His extensive knowledge as an electrical engineer has seen him find success in defining, developing, producing and selling complex electronic devices and systems to several original equipment manufacturers. He is noted for his achievements as a product team manager, public speaker and technology producer with his work embedded in over 250 million consumer products.
Before joining SpotSee, Van Niekerk was the chief technical officer for RF Ops, LLC. While there, he worked extensively on the technical side of the IoT and the cloud through multiple lanes of technology. Previously, Van Niekerk was a RFID system designer at Maxim Integrated/Intelleflex. He also worked at Microchip Technology as an applications manager and has a wealth of experience as a programmer, developer and system designer.
