Socket Mobile Launches DuraCase for the Samsung J3 and J5 Mobile Phones

NEWARK, Calif., April 26, 2017 – Socket Mobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), a leading innovator of data capture and delivery solutions for enhanced productivity, is announcing the expansion of the DuraCase product line to support the Samsung’s J3 and J5 mobile phones. The DuraCase is a one-handed, protective casing for both the mobile phone and attached 800 Series barcode scanning solution.

The J3 and J5 edition of DuraCase is the first to provide one-handed scanning solutions for Samsung mobile devices. Socket Mobile is seeing an increasing interest in mobile-phone centric, data capture solutions, such as inventory control and delivery confirmation. Socket Mobile will be expanding the DuraCase family further by adding the Galaxy S7 edition later in 2017.

DuraCase is designed to charge both the attachable barcode scanner and the Samsung mobile phone in a single-charging design. For larger deployments, the 6 Multi-Bay Charger charges up to 6 DuraCase solutions at once.

“We are very excited to extend our line of DuraCase solutions into the Android world. Creating reliable and dependable hardware for customers is a prerequisite to writing the mobile application. The right hardware coupled with the right application solution is what drives the market forward. The DuraCase for iPod touch was our first product launched for the single-handed scanning market in Q4 of 2016. It has received positive reviews for its robust construction, protective characteristics, combined charging elements and performance in single-handed scanning. Adding Android support in connection with Samsung was the next logical step. We continue to invest in this emerging market and support the growing needs of our enterprise customers,” said Kevin Mills, President and Chief Executive Officer
