Epson’s Industrial Handheld Label Printer Wins 2016 iF Design Award
TOKYO, Japan, 2016 – Epson's thermal transfer printer product design has been recognized at the prestigious iF Design Awards 2016. The Epson LW-PX900/LW-Z900FK* industrial handheld label printers were selected by judges at an award ceremony held in Munich on Feb. 26. The LW-PX900 (available from K-Sun Corporation, an Epson Group Company) and LW-Z900FK (*see availability) will now carry the coveted iF logo in certain geographies.
Established in 1953, the iF design award is among the world’s most important awards for innovative product design. The award evaluation criteria include design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental attributes, functionality, ergonomics, safety, brand value and universal design.
The LW-PX900/ LW-Z900FK are industrial handheld label printers for electrical and other contractors and are solidly designed to suit usage in severe environments. For example, its distinctive multi-faceted styling makes it easy to hold with either one hand or both, and the red body stands out even in dark environments. With a large handle, the shock- and scratch-durable elastomer material ensures drop impact resistance.
Hiroaki Sakai, general manager at Epson who is responsible for imaging products design, said: "At Epson, we go to great lengths to blend style with usability based on an understanding of actual user situations. We are delighted that our products have been recognized in this way, and will continue to design products that meet the real needs of our customers."
