New Cable Simplifies Bluetooth Connection to Mobile Barcode Devices #nrf16
Code's T500: A New Method for Solving Barcode Reading Challenges
Salt Lake City, UT – January, 2016 – Code, an industry leader of image-based barcode reading technology, today announced that Code Readers have been certified for use with iOS® devices by utilizing Code’s unique accessory, the T500, a Bluetooth® enabled cable.
Code Readers like the CR900FD and CR5000 are flexible, high-performance barcode readers built to easily decode 1D, 2D and postal barcodes from a variety of media, including cell phone screens and driver licenses. With the T500, these readers easily and effortlessly connect to Android™, Windows®, iOS, and other devices that lack the standard USB and RS232 ports, to provide ultimate flexibility at the point of service.
“As tablets and smartphones have made their way into enterprise applications, the barcode reading options have historically been limited,” said John Deal, Director of Product Management at Code. “The T500 changes that by giving retailers a cost-effective way to bring Bluetooth technology to mobile point-of-sale, by eliminating the need to purchase expensive Bluetooth readers and avoiding the repeated cost of replacement batteries.”
Multiple Bluetooth protocol support gives application developers and independent software vendors numerous options for using the reader and T500 with their application. Simply plug and play with the Bluetooth keyboard options, or leverage Code’s easy-to-use software development kit for a higher level of control.
Whether a tablet is being used for checkout or for self-service applications like price checking or admission, the T500 gives customers the ability to wirelessly connect a variety of readers, from handheld to presentation, to an iPad®, Samsung Galaxy Tab®, or Microsoft® Surface™. This flexibility is ideal for a number of markets, including retail, quick service restaurants, fitness centers, hospital admissions, clinics, and many more.
