System ID Welcomes "Internet of Things" Thought Leaders to 2013 Barcode Technology Summit

Plano, Texas (PRWEB) October 31, 2013

The "Internet of Things" (IoT) is changing the face of barcoding. Zebra Technologies’ Senior Business Development Manager Grant Miller will explain this and more during a keynote address of the System ID 2013 Barcode Technology Summit on Nov. 11 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.

Miller will address how companies are using new devices to significantly improve their supply chain operations, while also detailing new solutions Zebra has launched to manage devices via the Cloud. These solutions include Zatar, the first of its kind enterprise-level IoT solution that Zebra recently introduced.

"The barcode is one of the many existing important building blocks of an IoT solution. We are excited to partner with System ID and have a meaningful dialogue around how organizations can use emerging technologies to take advantage of the opportunities that an increasingly connected environment provides," Miller said. "Zebra is committed to providing exciting solutions that enable our customers to realize the benefits of IoT, and we are looking forward to connecting with industry peers to continue this important conversation."

Hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses from throughout the country are expected to attend the Barcode Technology Summit and learn about the latest barcode and RFID trends from pacesetters in the industry.

"Grant and his colleagues at Zebra truly have their fingers on the pulse of data collection technologies," said Tom O’Shea, president for System ID. "They embraced the growing importance of devices and have been pioneers in our industry as they solve challenges and make deployments easier. We look forward to hearing Grant bring this expertise to the Barcode Technology Summit."

The summit is geared toward companies in the manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, supply chain, retail and transportation industries. An expanded and improved exhibition hall will show barcoding applications in action, with mock settings including a warehouse demonstrating how technology can be used to transform attendees’ businesses processes.

Registration for the event costs $75 through Oct. 31. On Nov. 1, the price rises to $149. Hotel rooms are available at the Gaylord Texan Resort for those needing overnight accommodation.
