Small City Uses QR Codes for Big Improvements

Manor Labs is the official research and development division of city and their initiative to inform their area as well as educate residents is revolutionary. The labs refer to the citizens as “innovators” since every one has the ability to access these codes with their mobile phones and recommend areas of improvement through the website associated with the code. Of course, the service is free since there are several bar code scanning applications available for smartphones that do not cost any money. This use of technology is allowing citizens to contribute to their community as well as making them the direct beneficiaries of the contributions. Another interesting attribute to this program is that it is not just limited to the 6,500 residents; even tourists can contribute ideas and innovations for the city to review and consider with the click of their cell phone’s camera.
