QR Codes Being Used as Tour Guides
The bar codes have been placed at 29 various landmarks and tourist sites around the area for travelers to scan with their smart phones and learn about the point of interest. This incorporation of technology and tourism could be the ticket for getting the younger crowd interested in historical facts through interactive media. The city currently has the self-guided tour plotted out along an 8.5 mile path of coastal beauty and hopes to integrate video, audio and slide shows in the QR codes soon.
